This Orange-tip butterfly brooch forms part of my handmade jewellery collection; a range of vintage inspired pieces featuring my illustrations on laser-cut plywood.
I use decoupage to apply my illustrations to their wooden shapes, followed by crackle-glaze and finally liquid metal leaf to add speckles & highlight the edges (this piece has speckles in a colour crossed between copper & gold.)
The back of the brooch is dark brown with a simple pin & hook fastening in an antique bronze colour (made from plated iron.)
The butterfly measures 4 x 1.8cm and is 4mm thick (minus the brooch fastening.)
